Lucas Greenhouses, Monroeville, NJ

Lucas Greenhouses was one of our first greenhouse projects.  They have a reputation of being on the cutting edge of technology in the greenhouse industry.  They are a floral greenhouse with over 55 acres of growing space.  Their goal was to provide their plants with the highest quality water and have an environmentally friendly closed loop irrigation system.

We started out treating 2) 17,500 gallon tanks for flood floor irrigation. The initial installation went flawlessly! They were very impressed with how positively their plants were reacting to our treatment design.  Soon after our initial installation, they asked us to design a treatment system to treat all flood floor irrigation, overhead spray irrigation, and allow them the capability to have a “closed loop” irrigation cycle.  We installed auto back-washing pre & post filtration for their irrigation water that filters down to 5 micron.  Following the pre-filters, we installed a state of the art ozone treatment skid with compressor, air prep, custom built ozone generator, PLC controls, visual and audible alarms, and injection system.  The treatment skid pulled a side stream of water out of the contact tank, super saturated that side stream with ozone and injected it back into the contact tank using our patented contacting system. Following the contact tank, the water went through our auto back-washing pressure depth media post filters, and out to the crop.  The treatment skid is controlled and monitored by ORP settings.
